[character]: Vriska Serket
[character history / background]: Advance or A8scond!
[character abilities]: Vriska has several unique abilities. And from her point in time she will also have her God Tier abilities. Among those abilities are Vision Eightfold, which is something of an X-ray sort of vision that she used to read a magic cue ball. She isn’t seen using this particular power often, because the magic cue ball is destroyed and her left eye which has the Vision Eightfold is destroyed. She does, however, regain this ability when she reaches God Tier, but isn’t seen using it again.
Another ability of hers that she is seen using more frequently is telepathy, and she uses it on numerous occasions to force the cards to fall the way she wants them to. She isn’t able to mind control everyone, and sometimes her power is limited depending on the distance she is from her victim. This however, will not always stop her from trying.
Vriska fights with dice. As in she rolls eight 8-sided dice to determine the fate of her enemies. And because her luck is usually pretty great (though she often claims she has bad luck), she frequently rolls deadly blows.
After achieving God Tier status, Vriska is able to fly using wings granted by her God Tier outfit. This also causes her to leave trails of pixies dust when she flies around. Her God Tier level also grants her a sort of immortality that will only let her die a heroic or ‘just’ death. Any other death and she would revive from it without actually being dead.
This isn't so much an ability as something that everyone in Homestuck possesses, but Vriska has a sylladex, which is a device used to store items in so that she can carry around and use them at will by fetching them using her fetch modus.
[character personality]: BLUH BLUH HUGE BITCH. If you asked pretty much any of the trolls (or anyone really), that would be how they describe Vriska. She is a sociopath. But she’s definitely more than that once you dig a little deeper, not that most people want to dig that deep when it comes to Vriska.
On Alternia, highbloods aren't exactly the sanest of the sane. Or rather, they are sane, but not by a human standard of the word because their entire culture works differently. Her logic is rather skewed because of this fact, and as such she feels the need to be responsible for the things that happen to people so that she can be in control of the situation and the outcome for that situation. Like being the cause of Jack Noir's last prototyping being a First Guardian - it was a pretty stupid move for anyone to make, and in turn causes the Troll's session of Sgrub to be doomed. But she feels no remorse about it because she has a plan, she's going to be the one to destroy Jack after the last prototyping, because she's the one who made him and no one else is good enough for the job. Even if she knows she probably won't live through the fight. Any normal person would find that sort of logic crazy, but it makes perfect sense to Vriska.
Vriska is terribly self-centered and seems to think everything revolves around her and her involvement with all events ever. She feels little remorse for anything she's done or anyone that she's killed, unless it's Tavros or Aradia. She has no reservations about feeding trolls to her Lusus. She blames everything going wrong around her on bad luck, instead of her own shortcomings. She fails to ever see that she's the actual problem. She blames her screwed up nature on troll society and her blood color, and hates it because it caused her to be this way that makes no one like her enough or hate her enough. She goes to far as to say that troll culture was better off dead. To cover up her many insecurities, she brags a lot. About herself, about how she got all the levels and reached God Tier, about her days FLARPing, about how she was the cause for so many events transpiring.
Even with all the confidence she seems to exude, Vriska actually dislikes herself quite a bit. She uses and abuses the people she knows and manipulates them to her liking, but gets pretty upset that she has to resort to psychic manipulation to control people when Terezi can manipulate people without it. She constantly feels inferior to Terezi because of that, and hates on herself for being unable to be more like that. Because of her envy of Terezi's ability to deceive people without underhanded psychic tactics, she goes on to back-stab almost everyone she meets in a way to prove herself. She tries at every chance to strike up a rivalry with Terezi for this reason, so that Terezi will also see that she is better.
But Vriska isn't completely sociopathic and evil. Though she lacks morals 85% of the time, she has them for that other 15%. She feels terrible when she kills Tavros, even though she was justified in doing it by troll culture. She's also extremely upset that she failed to make up with Aradia, even though she was the one who caused Aradia's death in the first place. She's afraid of seeming weak to the other trolls, and as such doesn't admit things to them that she should, namely being about how she feels bad about some of the things she does. And though friendship is somewhat a foreign concept to trolls, Vriska wants to take on Jack so that she can protect her friends - the other trolls.
[point in timeline you're picking your character from]: Shortly after killing Tavros and before her conversation with John. So right after this update.

Huh? Wait a minute. This isn’t the Veil?
[A huff before she notices the device and picks it up to inspect it. It doesn’t take her long to find the text option and she switches it to text to hide her irritation and current emotional state for the moment.]
Hey! What’s the 8ig deal????????
Don’t you know you can’t just interrupt someone as important as me?
Do you even know how many irons I had in the fire? It was all of them, 8y the way. All of them.
Helloooooooo? Is anyone there? I 8et this stupid thing doesn’t even work!
What a waste.
[third person / log sample]: Vriska felt sick while she watched Tavros’ body fall into the darkness, but she maintained her smile until he could no longer see it, until she could not longer see him. She frowned, shoulders sagging a little as she sat down on the side of the ledge, staring down, trying to see him still.
It was normal for highbloods like herself to kill off lower bloods like him, it’s not something she should feel upset over. No highblood on Alternia would have faulted her for it. It simply meant that she was growing up and growing into what was expected of her. The strong killed the weak, that was how things went. But somehow it felt all wrong to her right now. She should have been happy and feel accomplished by the act.
Still, she had really wanted to help Tavros out. Even if it was in her way, she had really wanted to see him get stronger. It wasn’t her fault that he was so weak! He should have let her help him to become stronger, better. A troll worthy of living into adulthood. But he was just weak. Even after saying how he was going to stop her, he couldn’t do anything against her. What had she expected? What had she wanted?
She pulled her legs to her chest, staring deeply into the ravine. She couldn’t see him, but it didn’t really matter. The recent death kept flashing through her thinkpan, and she frowned angrily at the image of Tavros. At the death. At herself. Why was she so weak? Stupid Tavros. Stupid her.
If Tavros had just... No. It was stupid to think like that, it wouldn’t change anything now. She wanted someone to talk to about this - someone who would understand what she was going through. But she couldn’t tell the other trolls about this, couldn’t tell them that she killed Tavros and now she felt bad about it. They wouldn’t understand. They couldn’t possibly understand the kind of pressure she was under here! She still had to go take on Jack for all of them, even though she couldn’t quite grasp why she wanted to do it for them. It must be that troll disease called friendship. It was disgusting, how weak she was getting.
But maybe- Maybe she could talk to John about this. He would understand, maybe. He was a human though, he wouldn’t understand the troll culture that justified her killing people. She sighed, drawing invisible circles on the floor. But John was nice and understanding, and if she explained all that it would be okay, wouldn’t it? She at least wanted to talk to him before she made her next move to take on Jack, no matter how hopeless that move seemed. She had to. She was God Tier, and she was the one who was responsible for Jack’s last prototyping and for everything he was doing. She had to be the one to kill him, even if it cost her her life. He was the top priority now.
She just had to stop thinking about Tavros, and about how she felt about it. So she needed to talk to John. That would make her feel better before she left, she was sure of it. She could go with her mind clear and free of all this regret over killing Tavros. She couldn’t be bothered worrying over that while she was fighting Jack.
